The article describes the current state and trends of development for business informatics as an interdisciplinary scientific and educational approach, which unites economics, informatics and management. The basic structural elements of business informatics are defined, as well as peculiarities of their implementation in industry. Prospects of their development on the basis of the network-centric concept are defined.
